Cookie Policy

1. The short version
Sahaaya sets exactly one cookie — to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or sell any data to ad networks. Because everything below is either strictly necessary to run the app or doesn't identify you at all, Sahaaya does not show a cookie-consent banner: there is nothing non-essential here to ask your permission for. If that ever changes (e.g. we add advertising or cross-site tracking in future), this policy and a consent option will be updated before it does.
2. The one cookie we set

3. Local storage (not a cookie, but similar)
A few small items live in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie — they never leave your device unless you submit them yourself:
- • An in-progress task draft, so a half-written post survives an accidental back button.
- • A referral code from a shared link, so signing up shortly after still credits it.
- • Whether you've already seen the in-app tour, so it doesn't repeat.
- • Your last-picked city and theme (light/dark), as a convenience.
4. Cookies from others, only if you trigger them
- • Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights: cookieless by design — they measure anonymized page views and load performance without setting any cookie or identifying you individually.
- • YouTube: the How it Works page embeds two short videos in click-to-play, privacy-enhanced mode (
youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play on one — once you do, standard YouTube/Google cookies for that embedded player may apply, under Google's own policies, not ours. - • Razorpay: when you open the payment checkout for a platform fee or the Unlimited plan, Razorpay's own checkout page may set its own cookies to process that payment securely. We never see or control these.
- • Google Sign-In: if you use “Continue with Google,” Google sets its own cookies during that login step, under Google's policies.
5. Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — doing so for sahaaya_session will simply log you out. Since Sahaaya sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own, there's no ad-preference or opt-out setting needed on our end.
